Toshl Expense Tracker

Posted by Nurhisham Hussein in "Windows Phone Software" @ 07:30 PM

"Toshl is an app and that makes managing expenses fun and effortless. Noting an expense is quicker than a shooting star. Simply enter the price, tap the right tag for your purchase and save. Best of all, it can seamlessly sync to the cloud and give you beautiful infographics about your own money."

I like finance apps - there's always been one on my various late lamented Windows Mobile devices. Better yet, Toshl is free, though if you need more advanced features the developers offer a Pro version for $19.95. Some might not like the cloud saving feature even if communications are SSL encrypted, though given how much of our lives are out there now I don't know if one more point of contact makes a difference. Set against that, all your data would be available through the Toshl website.

"Debts Controller is the simple and quick solution to easily manage the money that you borrow and the money that you lend. It offers to you a complete view of your friends' debts, with the balance, status of payback and many graphics to have a quick and easy summary."

If you happen to be carrying any debt, or if you happen to have loaned any money, this new Windows Phone 7 app can help you manage those items. The app has a number of interesting features, including the ability to associate a location and a photo in addition to a description of the item. You can also send an SMS or e-mail reminder directly from within the app. Install it this morning and you can be underway managing your debts and loans almost immediately!

What's A Few Bucks Between Friends?

Money is often a source of friction between spouses and friends. Clevlab has a friendly little app to avoid those small misunderstandings from turning into bigger ones. Friendly Budget allows you to track who paid what to whom, and what the share of the expense you and your friends and family have incurred - perfect for holidays when travelling with friends and family. There's a version for both Windows Phone 7 and Windows Mobile 6.5, though unfortunately I can't check either out due to geographic restrictions. It's a neat idea and certainly worth a quick look.

HTC Lowers Expectations In 2009

Posted by Darius Wey in "Pocket PC News" @ 03:17 PM

http://www.digitimes.com/news/a20090119PB203.html

"High Tech Computer (HTC) has lowered its guidance for revenue growth in 2009 amid the global economic slowdown, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report. The paper quoted HTC CEO Peter Chou as saying that the company expects its revenues to grow at a double-digit rate in 2009, compared to a robust 20% growth Chou projected in a conference call last October."

This just goes to show that not even the venerable are immune from tough economic conditions; although, double-digit rate of growth is still solid, considering many other major companies have experienced losses in the past half year, and are expecting further losses in the year ahead.
