Reactions to Windows Phone 7 Surprisingly Positive

Posted by Jason Dunn in "Windows Phone Talk" @ 02:34 PM

"Walking around the packed gdgt live event in Seattle last night, we were surprised at the large crowd pushing into Microsoft's booth -- until we realized that the company was demonstrating Windows Phone 7, giving people a glimpse of something they won't see in stores for a few months."

Everyone reading this site has doubtless formed opinions about Windows Phone 7, but it's really interesting to me to watch this video and see how other people perceive it - especially iPhone and Android users. Check it out - it's quite interesting to see how people react to Windows Phone 7...

Windows Phone 7 Series Foursquare Client Shown

Posted by Jon Westfall in "Windows Phone Software" @ 08:30 AM

http://techcrunch.com/2010/03/25/fo...ch+(TechCrunch)

"There's no denying that Windows Phone 7 (or Windows Phone 7 Series, or whatever awful branding was chosen) looks to be a huge improvement from the previous iterations of Windows Mobile. And there's even some talk that it may be able to compete with the current golden boy of the smartphone industry, Apple's iPhone. If an early look at the new Foursquare app for Windows Phone 7 is any indication, it just may."

Habitual Foursquare'ers (Which Jason believes I am, despite the fact that I keep it to my self since my check-ins aren't exactly all that interesting) will like the new Windows Phone 7 foursquare app, which is a nice improvement over the 6.5 version now. Another reason to be psyched about WP7S!

Windows Phone Kiosks At Malls

Posted by Jason Dunn in "Windows Phone Talk" @ 11:14 AM

Windows phone kiosks in the malls? That's not something you see every day. Apparently this is part of the Verizon Windows Phone Tour, so it's a limited engagement at best. That's a shame because I'm sure we've all walked into the mobile phone network stores and seen the non-working dummy Windows Mobile phones, or the battery dead/broken phones...in a lot of stores, Windows Mobile isn't even given a chance to win the customer. If Microsoft wants Windows phones to do better than in the past, they need to start to take charge of showing the customers what the phones can do.
