SmartRss Touch Edition for Pocket PC

Posted by Ed Hansberry in "Pocket PC Software" @ 11:00 AM

http://www.beetzstream.com/Portal/

BeetzStream has released a touch version of their SmartRss reader. They have a video at their site to walk you through how the app works.

It does require a touch screen, so WinMo standard device are out for this version. It works with WinMo 6.0, 6.1 and 6.5. It will even work with 5.0 if the .NET CF 3.5 framework is installed. I believe it is still in beta. There is a download link at the site, but you cannot purchase it and there is no price indicated. Their previous version was $14.99, so expect to pay in that range once it is officially released.

Protopage Mobile Launch Goes Live

Posted by Rocco Augusto in "Smartphone Talk" @ 11:12 AM

http://blog.protopage.com/

"We’ve just launched a major update to Protopage, which includes brand new mobile features. Protopage Mobile has been specially optimized for dozens of mobile phones including the Apple iPhone, Blackberry, Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, LG, Windows Mobile 5/6, HTC and Palm... To access it, simply visit http://protopage.com/mobile on your phone."

There seemed to be a fair amount of our readers out there that enjoy the idea of a customizable homepage. If you are familiar with Desktop browser based customizable landing pages then you should be familiar with Protopage. For those that are not familiar, Protopage is similar to iGoogle but a bit more fun. Like iGoogle you can do basic things like set up RSS feeds to aggregate your daily news readings to even reading your daily Dilbert comic strips. Unlike iGoogle though, Protopage is a bit more fun to look. With the launch of the new mobile service you can bring all that you love of the Desktop browser version down to your mobile device.
