Engadget Handles The LG eXpo Projector

Posted by Jon Westfall in "LG Windows Phones" @ 12:30 PM

"You'll be familiar with the LG eXpo and its specs already -- which include a slideout QWERTY keyboard and 1GHz Snapdragon under the hood -- but we thought we'd go try the handset out for ourselves and tell you what we thought. Construction on this little machine was plenty sturdy to withstand the bumps associated with its unusual shape, while the keyboard slider mechanism had a reassuring feel to it. On the whole our impression was that you've got a middle of the road modern phone with a sales hook that depends on just how into projecting your images you are."

I've been pleasantly surprised at the reports of the LG eXpo's projector, especially since it seems highly usable. Engadget takes it out for a spin and adds a bit more info on this first WinMo Projector phone.

LG eXpo Available Online!

Posted by Jon Westfall in "LG Windows Phones" @ 10:00 PM

"It looks like AT&T sneaked the LG eXpo onto is Web site overnight. The eXpo was due to be released on December 7, so a week delay isn't that bad. The Windows Mobile 6.5 phone is $199.99 after rebates and contract ($449.99 for those not wanting to mess with contracts). The eXpo has a 3.2-inch 480x800 screen, a "smart sensor," Snapdragon processor and can be fitted with an optional, "piggy-back" pico projector which will cost you an extra $179.99."

Want a phone with a projector? Then you'll want to keep an eye on a certain carrier for a rollout now initiated. It's a WinMo 6.5 phone, and we have no reports on the projector's abilities just yet. But stay tuned, I'm sure they're on their way.

Project From Your Windows Phone With MobiShow

Posted by Jon Westfall in "Pocket PC Accessories" @ 04:00 PM

"MobiShow allows your Smartphone to show any content to big screens (projectors, TVs, etc.) through Wi-Fi connection. For purposes of business presentation or personal entertainment, MobiShow is your best ShowMate"

For those of us on the go that may need to present just from a Windows Phone, MobiShow from AWind looks particularly interesting. If you're sick of toting a laptop just to run a powerpoint, check it out and tell us if you'll be placing an order.

Samsung Plans to add 3M Mini-Projector to New Handsets

"3M has been touting its mini-projectors for some time now (along with many others), but it looks like they're now finally a bit closer to landing in an actual product, with Samsung reportedly set to begin offering them later this year. What's not clear, unfortunately, is whether the projectors will actually be built into the cellphones (and if so, which ones), or simply offered as an attachment of some sort, but either way you can apparently expect to pay between $200 and $400 for the chance to spread a bit of visual pollution."

Once again Samsung has shown us that they are on the top of their game as far as innovation goes. The idea of being able to project my handsets display is actually a neat concept. Something like this would be perfect in a meeting type situation, or even watching a movie on the go. I have to say, hats off to Samsung for once again thinking outside the box!
