Windows Phone Radio: The Podcast

Posted by Jason Dunn in "Windows Phone News" @ 09:00 PM

"As mentioned last week Microsoft have launched a new Podcast - Windows Phone Radio. The first episode has been made available to listen to in the last few minutes. This podcast comes in the lead up to launch of Windows Phone 7. This new podcast hosted by Matt Akers (of the Zune Insider Podcast) and Brian Seitz. This episode runs for 15-minutes. The official write-up for the Podcast states: "Windows Phone Radio is the place for the latest news and information from the Windows Phone team at Microsoft. Your hosts Brian Seitz (@brianseitz) and Matt Akers (@skipdeez) will track the people behind the news and broadcast on location from around Microsoft campus and industry events."

Interested in hearing more from members of the Windows Phone and Zune team? Then tune in to this new podcast - you'll find it in the Zune Marketplace, and perhaps other podcast directories.

Yours Truly Chats with Ian Dixon on The Media Center Show

Posted by Jason Dunn in "Windows Phone Talk" @ 01:30 PM

A week or two ago, I spent an hour chatting with Ian Dixon from The Media Center Show, and today he's published the podcast. I really enjoy being a guest on a podcast because expressing myself - hopefully intelligibly - is something I enjoy, but I don't particularly want to tackle the work involved in producing a regular podcast. If you have a podcast, and you'd like to have me on as a guest to discuss, well, pretty much anything, drop me a line.

In this episode, Ian and I talk about the Zune HD, Windows phone 7, and the way these two products intersect - as well as my prediction that 2010 is going to be a great year for Microsoft because all of their different assets (Xbox, Zune, mobile, Live) will finally come together the right way.

Have a listen and tell me what you think!

Get Seedpod Mobile Free, Offer Ends Today

Posted by Jason Dunn in "Smartphone Software" @ 10:47 AM

"SeeqPod Mobile brings Playable SearchTM to Windows Mobile powered phones and devices (and the upcoming Windows App Marketplace). Now you can use SeeqPod's award-winning* Biomimetic Search & Discovery technology to find playable search results, and Wikipedia articles all from your phone! Get instant playable access to SeeqPod's ever-growing and daily updated archive of Featured PodLists! Experience it all with a wide variety of color themes and one of the most amazing and gorgeous media players ever, with changeable skins in a range of styles."

I'll be honest, I'm not entirely sure I've wrapped my brain around exactly what this program does - biomimetic search and discovery? It seems like a search engine that focuses on music, podcasts, video, and other forms of media content. Well, for this weekend only (so the offer ends today), the program is free rather than $9.95 USD. What the heck - grab it now and figure it out later. ;-) The software will work on any device running Windows Mobile 6 or higher, whether that's Windows Mobile Professional or Windows Mobile Standard (I suspect Classic is supported as well).
