HTC HD7 Specs Revealed

Posted by Adan Galvan in "Windows Phone News" @ 08:00 PM

The specification sheet for the HTC HD7 has been supposedly been discovered by an editor over at WMPoweruser.com. While seeing some information on the HD7 is fantastic, the specs are decidedly less interesting. The specs appear to be (as previously rumored) almost exactly like those of the HD2. In fact, if this spec sheet proves correct, the HD3 will prove to be less impressive than the HD2. The HD7 spec sheet shows T-Mobile's US 3G frequencies, a 4.3" 480x800 screen, 512mb ROM, 576mb RAM, a 5MP camera with dual led flash, and a 8gb non-removable microSD card. While these specs would have been excellent in late 2009, in late 2010 they seem merely commonplace. In addition, one has to hope that the advancements in operating system will compensate for the small 1230mAh battery. The general reaction to the spec sheet has been disappointment, and I can only hope that HTC surprises us all with something more impressive.

HTC HD3/HT7 Pics Surface

Posted by Adan Galvan in "Windows Phone News" @ 12:00 PM

What look to be real pictures of the HTC HD3 have surfaced on a Chinese HTC forum. The pictures reveal a kickstand and what looks like a 4.3" screen. The device looks very much like the HD2, and the specs have been rumored to be almost identical. WMPoweruser.com earlier released another image and a drawing of the device. It is just a matter of time before the device is formally announced by HTC. Hopefully the device specs get upgraded from what has been rumored.

HTC HD3 Specs And Pics: Really?

I have no idea whether this is the real thing or a very clever photoshopped mock-up - but if wishing were enough, I want this to be real! The specs are to die for, and if WP7 holds up its end of the bargain, then this will be the one of the hottest handsets for the 2010 holiday season. Check these out: 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor, 16GB storage, 4.5" AMOLED screen at the insane resolution of 1280x800, and an 8MP camera with 720p video recording. On the other hand, the spec sheet has typos and errors ("1.5 GB Qualcomm", "Windows Mobile 7", and what the heck does it mean by 4G?), which aren't exactly confidence inspiring, and neither is the photo with the screen shot. You can check out the original (translated) pconline article via the link. Opinions, gentlemen and ladies?

Update:

Ugh, yeah it's a fake. WMExperts has the lowdown. Still, HTC could do worse than to release this design.

An Unrealistic, But Cool, Fake HTC HD3 Windows 7 phone

First off, let's be crystal clear: this is a work of pure imagination, not some sort of leaked image of the next HTC HD device. What's so impressive so me is the quality of the mock-ups...you'd never know that this was a mock-up of a phone that doesn't exist...until you look at the specs, because that's where things start to look a little too creative. The creator wants a 1.5 Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, but as far as I know, that speed of processor doesn't exist yet. The 1 GB of RAM seems like overkill, but the 16 GB of internal storage sounds about right. The 4.5 inch screen running at 800 x 1280 sounds cool, but that's not supported resolution of Windows phone 7. 4G? Nah, we won't see that yet. USB host? Nope, not compatible with Windows phone 7. 8 megapixel camera that can record 720p video? Maybe...just maybe. I've heard rumblings about phones this year being able to do HD capture.

So that's the mythical HD3. What would your dream Windows phone 7 device have on it in terms of hardware? Yeah, I know you want copy and paste, but what about the hardware?
