"Despite its long and windy road to fruition, Windows Phone 7 has a chance, Myerson says with a quiet conviction that sounds more like an engineer convinced of his work than a salesman looking to close the deal. Myerson is convinced that Microsoft can get back in the game if Windows Phone 7 really nails the set of things that it does tackle--merging personal and work contacts, integrating Xbox Live games and Zune music and video, including mobile versions of Office and aiming to bring together photos from various social networks...'We've got a good product,' he said. 'I actually do believe that. I think we are going to actually have a lot of happy customers.'"

A nicely written article about the human story behind Windows Phone 7's development. As one of the commnetators said, "Sometimes, we forget that normal humans are behind products of a company we might not like.. these are normal people trying their best to do a good job.. such articles sometimes help us to reduce our critical focus..". I couldn't have put it any better. One very telling quote from Myerson however suggests that the Windows Phone team will take about 5 years before they hit a level where they think they have the kind of product that they want and is fully competitive with everyone else - given all that's been omitted from WP7, that's not exactly news. But have a read through and tell us what you think.
