E-TEN Announces Upcoming 3G Windows Mobile 6 Device

Posted by Darius Wey in "NEWS" @ 03:00 AM

"E-TEN Information Systems will stage early demonstrations of its newest Pocket PC Phone at the upcoming CeBIT international trade show to be held from March 15 to 21, 2007. The new handset which is scheduled for release later in the year under E-TEN's own-brand, Glofiish, will be the company's first handset to feature 3G connectivity. As the world's largest trade fair showcasing digital IT and telecommunications solutions for home and work environments, CeBIT attracts several thousand international exhibitors and 100s of thousand of attendees each year. Guests at the E-TEN booth in 2007 will be given the opportunity to experience E-TEN's latest Pocket PC Phone for consumers and professional who are always on the move. E-TEN's latest handset is based on the recently announced Windows Mobile® 6 software platform which offers new, richer ways to edit documents and emails, improved usability, and more powerful mobile functions. The new device will be the first from E-TEN to support 3G connectivity – HSDPA/WCDMA. Also on show at the booth will be E-TEN's two most recent handset releases, the Glofiish X500, which at just 15.5mm is the company's thinnest Pocket PC device, and the Glofiish M700, featuring a sliding keyboard. All three Pocket PC Phones offer all-in-one connectivity with GSM, Wi-Fi® and GPS, and include a 400MHz Samsung CPU and 128MB of Flash ROM."

W-CDMA/HSDPA? Check. Windows Mobile 6 Professional? Check. For the moment, that's about all we know of E-TEN's upcoming Glofiish, though all will be revealed in a fortnight's time.

Update: And in case you missed the last sentence of the quoted press release, GSM, Wi-Fi and GPS connectivity are all included, alongside a Samsung (most likely, S3C2442) 400MHz CPU and 128MB ROM.
