"Palm, Inc. (Nasdaq: PALM) today announced the Palm® Treo™ 750 smartphone in Australia, the first Treo smartphone to take advantage of Telstra's Next G™ network. The Treo 750 offers the world-class Palm experience on Microsoft®'s Windows Mobile® 5.0 and includes High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) capability. "The Treo 750, combined with Telstra’s extensive Next G mobile network and various email solutions, will make this an invaluable business tool for Telstra's enterprise customers," said Olivier Rozay, Palm's country manager for Australia and New Zealand. "Over 5 million Treo smartphones have been sold globally to date, and continuing to expand the Treo footprint is a key focus for Palm. The addition of HSDPA is just one of the great benefits the new Treo 750 smartphone has to offer mobile professionals and businesses across Australia who want a strong mobile-computing experience."

Following several testing delays that spanned months, Palm and Telstra have finally introduced the Treo 750 for use on the Next G network. You'll be able to pick one up from your local Telstra store or online from February 26 on a money-milking 24-month contract (A$80 Telstra Business plan) or A$1,199 outright.
