"Polarbit, top-notch 3D games developer, and FILAO, leading publisher of games, references and lifestyle applications for mobile phones and PDAs launch their collaboration with the release of Raging Thunder, a gut-churning, tire-burning racer developed for a broad range of mobile platforms and handheld devices (Symbian S60 & UIQ, PalmOS, Windows PPC & Smartphone, Brew and WIPI)."

There's always been a lack of great 3D games for the Windows Mobile platform, despite the advances in hardware over the last couple of years and the potential of the platform as a mobile gaming platform. Partly this was because devices themselves were not developed with gaming in mind, and the marketing side of it has always stressed the business potential of PDAs. As WM has become more ubiquitous, and the range of customers has expanded beyond the core of business users, we're seeing more companies interested in developing great games for Windows Mobile - we saw a port of Call of Duty 2 released just two weeks ago. Raging Thunder is a 3D racing game designed to work on a lot of platforms (including VGA support), and looks pretty good. I'm not a fan of the genre, but I'd support anybody making quality 3D games for Windows Mobile. No news on whether this supports the Intel2700g (though the screenshots looks like it does) - if it did, that would be awesome for Dell owners! Raging Thunder retails for $14.95, but you can get it for $13 through our affiliate store until 31st October - a trial is also available.
