Pocketland's Brief Look at the Treo 750v

"Several key actions native to the Windows Mobile OS, like opening up the start menu or shutting down running applications, can be accomplished with hard keys on the 750v. Other actions that normally require several menu taps have also been streamlined. Unfortunately the 750v is missing a dedicated hard key for camera activation. Several menu taps are required to start up the camera. In terms of resistance to moisture and abrasion we're happy to report that the 750v performed wonderfully in the rigorous proving grounds of the Oktoberfest. The pre-production 750v seemed to have some third-party software compatibility issues. The Windows Mobile square screen format is currently supported by most newer applications, but the modifications made by Palm to the operating system caused many programs to run less than optimally. Part of the problem is that device documentation has yet to be made available to software developers."

Pocketland managed to get some hands-on time with the Treo 750v at Oktoberfest (wrong month, I think). There are a few ups and downs, but overall, it's shaping up to be a top device and one that many Europeans can still look forward to. You can read more about it here.
