Pocket PC Thai Reviews the Asus P525

We had posted on a preview that Pocket PC Thai did for the Asus P525 a couple weeks back. Well Nam (the reviewer) has now had a chance to thoroughly review the device. Note that the unit he reviewed was a pre-production unit, so just like any pre-production unit, there could be changes coming with the final device. As you'd expect, the article is in Thai, though there are a number of snapshots available for your consumption.

Just to paraphrase some of Nam's observations, he likes the phonepad but unlike the HTC devices, this one lacks the ability to quickly search for contacts by name using the the number keys, though you can get around this with a third party solution like EZDial (which he confirmed works great). For most situations, one-handed operation worked extremely well; Nam didn't find himself needing the stylus too often. The camera is also a true 2 MPixel camera with an auto-focus lens. Unfortunately, if there's a deal-killer with this device, it's the lack of EDGE support (standard GPRS only). Despite that, Nam feels this is one of the best Pocket PC Phones released this year (note: EDGE coverage in Thailand is extremely sparse, so he's only slightly impacted by this exclusion). If anyone has any questions, feel free to post them here and Nam will be more than happy to answer.
