.NET Compact Framework 2.0 Released

"The Microsoft® .NET Compact Framework 2.0 Redistributable includes everything you need to run applications built for both NET Compact Framework v1 and v2, including the Common Language Runtime and the .NET Compact Framework class library. This package uses ActiveSync 4.0 to update the device. Be sure to dock your device first before running NETCFSetupv2.msi. If your device is not docked, ActiveSync will store the CAB file until the time when you dock your device. Those not using ActiveSync can run the CAB files which match the device found in the install folder directly on the device."

Now that Visual Studio 2005 has hit RTM, go grab yourself a copy of the .NET Compact Framework 2.0. Contrary to popular belief, v2.0 was never included in Windows Mobile 5.0, so if you're looking to update your device with the new framework, you will need to download this redistributable and apply it to your device. It is compatible with devices running Windows Mobile 2003 / 2003 Second Edition / 5.0. While on the topic of the .NET Framework, you can also grab the v2.0 release for your PC here: x86; IA64; x64.
