"A PDA is generally considered a simple computerized device that is handy for email/task updates, listening to music, and playing games. Unfortunately, this ‘simple device’ mindset has created a loophole in many corporate networks that can be exploited by attackers. Since most companies barely recognize the PDA in their policies or control systems, they often have no idea how they are used on the network or at remote sites...This article will examine just some of the ways that a PDA can be owned by an attacker and what can happen as a result."

Seth Fogie, VP of Airscanner, has written an extensive article in this month's (IN)SECURE Magazine (the above link takes you to a free download of the PDF) talking about some of the security concerns of using PDAs, especially Pocket PCs. While some of them are vulnerabilities in the WM OS, other stem from the simple fact that Pocket PCs are powerful, just like desktops, and as such need to be monitored if they're used or have access to sensitive data.
