"This is an initial guide to creating your own customized "high-res" icons for your PPC. I had to figure this out myself because I wanted my Dell X50v to show off the high quality screen. Some of the older programs didn't have a high-res icon so they looked jagged and the program folders just didn't do it for me. Plain manila folders just isn't as exciting and don't quickly convey what type of programs are in that group. The basic process is simple but it has a lot of steps involved due to the multiple programs you need in order to create/modify the icon."

Pocket PC Thoughts reader, Kun Kim (otherwise known as Stake), recently took the time to write a nine page tutorial on icon creation for VGA Pocket PCs. It's very well put together and worth a read if you're one of those people who love making their graphical interface look all nice and pretty. ;)
