Differences in LED Flashing Between Pocket PC 2002 and WM2003

If you've ever wondered why your Pocket PC's LED flashed at different speeds, you might find this knowledgebase article of interest. I always thought that Samsung had made the flashing on my i700 seemingly random, but apparently that's not the case.

"The LED flashing functionality is predetermined for certain actions, such as the low/critical battery notification and when the radio is turned on. The LED has two speeds. When the LED flashes to alert the user that they are connected to a network, the LED flashes one time every three seconds. When the LED flashes to alert the user of a notification, the LED will flash about one time per second. The user can configure whether the LED flashes and the period of time that it continues to flash. For both the 2002 and 2003 versions, if the user sets the LED to flash for a certain period of time, the LED will stop flashing at the accelerated pace when the reminder box has been dismissed."

The irony is, in my case, that the only event that I find the LED useful for is for incoming phone calls; otherwise, I hardly glance at it and actually find the "slow flash" somewhat annoying.
