VITO VoiceDialer Updated

One of the features that I consider a "must" when I buy a new mobile phone is voice dialling. It's also an important feature for my Pocket PC Phone Edition, so I was glad to see that VITO Technology has updated its VoiceDialer software.

"VITO Technology brings a new level of voice dialing to Pocket PC Phones. Its updated VoiceDialer PE 3.0 allows pronouncing a name to dial a number instead of choosing it manually from the address book. New exciting look and enhanced recognition engine provide easy and flexible mechanism of recording and processing the voice commands. Moreover, VoiceDialer PE can handle voice tags in any language according to the users’ habits and preferences."

Instead of trying to understand every kind of utterance a person could make, the VITO recognition system requires the user to pre-train the software for specific words. It can take some time to record dialing commands for all of the most important entries in your Contacts database, but this kind of speech recognition tends to be much more accurate.

You can get a free 14-day demo or buy the full version for $15.95 at the Handango site.
