Tactical Incursion - Turn Based PPC Game Under Development

Xen Games have announced details of a new game they are working on, called Tactical Incursion. "As co-ordinator of the recently established Global Counter-Terrorism Initiative your task is preventing terrorist acts, obtaining intelligence and ultimately eliminating the terrorist threat once and for all. Take control of your squad of highly trained operatives in dangerous missions across the globe. Lead missions to destroy illegal arms caches, rescue hostages and capture high level targets in order to ascertain who or what is behind the recent spate of atrocities."

Remember the turn based gameplay of X-com or Fallout Tactics? Well, that’s exactly the kind of thing you will get here (apart from the aliens of course 0X ). The features include: "In-depth tactical gameplay with single and multiplayer support, Interactive environment and wide variety of missions, Challenging and realistic AI computer opponent, Advanced 3d graphics and lighting with fire, smoke, and more."

The developers say that they are concentrating on the major things that are sometimes lacking, such as strong AI and multiplayer support. The game will be fully 3d rendered with lighting and other effects. As it’s rendered, it will be able to cope with QVGA and VGA resolution screens and the current builds are apparently well on current generation Pocket PCs.

There’s no release date yet, but it certainly looks worth waiting for. I just love turn based games.
