Gomadic Cable Giveaway

Posted by Brad Adrian in "HARDWARE" @ 12:00 AM

You've read about them! You've posted about them! Now is your chance to actually own one!

A few days ago, Jason posted about Gomadic's Wireless Internet Cables, special cables that allow you to use your mobile phone as a modem for connecting your Pocket PC to the 'Net. Well, Don at Gomadic Corporation (what a guy!) wants to give five lucky Dell Axim owners a complete connectivity set consisting of:

• One Axim-to-phone cable (for the phone of your choice)
• One laptop-to-phone cable (for connecting your laptop to the 'Net)
• One ComCube (for connecting the various cables together)

In order to make sure this contest is won by people who can really use the cables, here's what you've got to do be entered in the random drawing:

• You MUST currently own a Dell Axim Pocket PC.
• You MUST own a mobile phone that is supported by Gomadic.
• You must send an e-mail message to "brad at pocketpcthoughts.com" [but use the "at" sign] with the keyword "gomadic" in the Subject line.
• In the body of the e-mail message you must include the Gomadic part number (it starts with "WIC") for your specific Axim/phone combination.
• The body of the e-mail must also include your Axim's alphanumeric serial number which is found under the main battery on the back of the device (I won't use this for anything other than to confirm your device type).
• Entries must be received BEFORE 1:00am MST Thursday, March 27, 2003.

Okay, here's the other stuff I gotta mention: You must follow the above instructions exactly (or my e-mail filters might exclude you). You may only enter once. You may not question the decisions of the judges (me). You may not whine. Despite the desires of all you optimists, Pocket PC Thoughts is not a democracy, and members of the editorial team reserve the right to change our minds and these rules indiscriminately.

Good luck one and all!
