Help a Fellow Pocket PC User Out!

Posted by Jason Dunn in "THOUGHT" @ 10:33 AM

Manuel de la Torre is a hard-core Pocket PC user, and he needs a bit of support from his fellow Pocket PC users. You see, Manuel is a keyboard player in a band from Lincoln, Nebraska, named Cactus Hill. His band is in a contest to open for Phil Vassar, and they need to get a few thousand of you to email the radio station with your votes. I wouldn't normally post on something like this, but after seeing how much Manuel uses his Pocket PC with his music, I thought it was pretty cool. They don't have any audio samples up on the Web site, so I can't tell you if they suck or not , but hey, check out this picture:

"I use my Pocket PC for a lot of other music-related stuff. I have a 128 MB SD card loaded with all of our practice songs, and I take it with me to every practice for reviewing purposes. I've used the Pocket PC to trigger special effects when we're playing live. I also built a "web site" specifically for the Pocket PC with all the songs we play, including beat, key, time signature, who sings what vocals, links to the lyrics, etc. I even bought a $500.00 car stereo so that I could connect the Pocket PC to it and listen to our practice songs while driving to our gigs (and also so that we could watch movies with full stereo sound). I use that poor thing for everything except taking a shower."

So what are you waiting for? ?subject=Cactus Hill should open for Phil Vassar with 96KX!"]Send that email. (remember to leave the subject line unchanged, and only one message per email address - don't spam them!) I think Manuel deserves our support for bringing the worlds of music and PDAs one step closer. Good luck Cactus Hill!
