Stop Cheating!

Posted by Jason Dunn in "UPDATE" @ 10:14 AM

I can't believe I have to post this on the front page on a day that's meant to be loads of fun for everyone, but some of you are cheating  and you need to stop. You know who you are, and you know how you're doing it. You're taking advantage of a flaw in our forum code and you're ruining this day for everyone else with your behaviour - and pissing off the team that worked very hard to bring you this event.

If your post appears on top of the contest post, that means you posted before it went to the front page, and that means you're cheating. If you post to a contest thread within 60 seconds of it going front page, you're lucky. If that happens five times in a row, you're either cheating or you're psychotic about hitting F5 too often.

From this moment on, anyone caught cheating will have their posts deleted from the contest threads (meaning you lose), and their account will be locked for one week.

UPDATE: Some of you are also posting gibberish to the thread in order to get the post in quickly, then coming back to edit it later. Clever, but some of the team members who are running the contests don't like that tactic and they'll pick other winners. Do the right thing and be fair - and type fast.

UPDATE #2:: For today only, the EDIT function has been disabled in the EVENTS forum.
