Spb PocketPlus 1.0 Released

Since Jason can't announce this, I will - there's been a lot of excitement about this product on the forums already.

"We are proud to announce the release of Spb Pocket Plus - a software that fills the gaps of Pocket PC 2002 OS. The software does nothing by itself - instead, it fixes some issues that have been awaited by Pocket PC users but still missing in the official Pocket PC 2002 OS."

These missing features include:
  • Turning the X into a closer/task switcher instead of Smart Minimize
  • Ability to open multiple Pocket IE windows or switch Pocket IE to full screen
  • Repeating alarms
  • Today screen plugin that shows memory, brightness, and battery status, and can act as a launch panel.
None of these are revolutionary, but they're nicely integrated, and most importantly, small and unintrusive (the download is just 144k!). I just installed it onto my 3870, and the integration is absolutely superb. The only minor bug I came across so far was that the clock-tap (to show the date and pending appointments) is shifted slightly - you have to tap in the empty space between the clock and the X; and the iPaq's auto-brightness doesn't always update on the Today screen. I'm sure these will be resolved shortly, and it's an extremely minor blemish on what's otherwise a fabulous product.
