Application Design with Pocket PC Creations

Pocket PC Creations is a simple application design tool that enables users without extensive development skills to realize their ideas. The new version includes the following features:

"• Full ADO functionality to manage all file types between Pocket PC and databases including images and audio. Reliable ADO operation with diverse database systems.
• New File point to transport all file types.
• Support for a NexiCam custom point to capture JPG images, with many applications.
• Wireless server-side session queue and dispatch, records to log file.
• Install and update projects wirelessly, use with Pocket PC Mobile Phones.
• New functions, including 13 additional Math functions for engineering and multi-selection Drop List.
• Enhanced XML for flexible solutions and management of wireless sessions."

It is nice to see tools like this emerge and introduce Pocket PC development to more users. However, if you even come near the thought if Visual Studio .NET and the .NET Compact Framework shouldn't be used then tools like this is less likely to be considered as they are too limiting. Pocket PC development in the Enterprise is more about system integration than client development. When choosing development tools and languages, the highest priority considerations should evolve around system integration. That said, I welcome Pocket PC Creations and wish new developer comrades welcome to this craft!
