Many of you have read books by Terry Brooks, like the "Shannara" series. As a recognized authority on fantasy books, he receives many submissions from new authors. Every few years, one will hit him that he will come out and recommend. A new book by Greg Keyes called The Briar King is just such a book. It will be available in early 2003 for $24.95 in hardback, or you can get it now for $4.95 ($4.46 if you are a regular customer with the newsletter codes) from Peanut Press. You can download the free Palm Reader for your Pocket PC to read it.

Dear Readers,

Over the course of a year's time, I am sent quite a few advance reader's copies of new books in the fantasy field. Once in awhile, and only once in awhile, is one of them special enough to warrant a letter like this one. The last time it happened was with Philip Pullman's The Golden Compass some five years ago.

But now I have finished a copy of Greg Keyes' wonderful new book The Briar King and I have reason to be excited all over again. This is the book that will bring Greg the readership he has always deserved. Sure, it is the first of a set, but don't let that put you off. If you respond to it like I did, you will be more than willing to wait for the next. Richly imagined, deeply engaging, and expertly told, it will stay with you long after you have turned the last page.

The new year will see a lot of happy readers after they discover this one.

All the best,

Terry Brooks

Not only that, but you will be entered in a drawing to win a brand new Palm M515! So, buy the book, saving at least $20, win the Palm, put it on ebay and use the proceeds to get a Dell Axim! Woohoo!

I have so many unread books on my iPAQ right now it isn't funny, but I cannot pass up a deal like this. "Look Hon, I saved $20 on a book I won't read for at least 6 months!" I can see the eyes rolling in her head now. :?
