Is today "find the obscure Pocket PC" day? Thoughts reader Francois emailed us about this Pocket PC found in the Chinese market. Nothing all that special in the specs or design, although it's nice to see integrated wireless. In a market that is absolutely exploding with cell phone purchases, and not desktop computers, this device may do quite well in China.

"Eten's InfoTouch series, the best-sellers among all financial PDAs in Taiwan and China, have sold 750,000 sets since 1997. This brand new InfoTouch P600 comes equipped with a StrongARM 32-bit RISC processor, 32MB ROM, 64MB RAM, and a 240x320 TFT LCD with 65,536 colors. The LiPoly rechargeable battery is good for up to 8 hours. Synchronization is achieved through either the built-in IrDA or the included USB adaptor. Memory can be enhanced through the addition of Compact Flash Type II cards or MultiMedia cards. Simple navigation is provided by a five-directional button input system and through the touch screen. Communications capabilities include GSM/GPRS 900/1800MHz dual band wireless supporting all Microsoft® Pocket PC 2002® standard communications applications including MSN Messenger, the personal communications application ideally suited for economic use of GPRS wireless technology. The unit also functions as a cellular phone and includes a stock quote/transaction application."

Don't like the features and want to order up something special?

"Looking for 802.11, Bluetooth or other wireless features? Please don't hesitate to inquire about product customization. We can provide fast turnaround solutions to any of your wireless needs including the very latest in high bandwidth protocols for wireless devices."
