We just got word about the newest release of Pocket Phojo, the premiere Pocket PC application within photography. Pocket Phojo is targeted towards professional photojournalists. It has all the imaging features you can ever need, and the ability to embed text captions into the image in industry standard IPTC format. The following is a quote from the press release:
"Pocket Phojo has truly changed the way I work." said Michael J. Treola, Staff Photographer for the Asbury Park Press, NJ. "No longer am I lugging the extra weight of my laptop computer, nor do I have to worry about its security when I'm not around, the Compaq iPAQ coupled with Pocket Phojo fits in your shirt pocket. What a back saver!! Pocket Phojo provides every tool to color correct, set levels, caption, sharpen, save and send the photos with the same ease and accuracy as Adobe Photoshop. With multiple methods of sending photos using either the built in FTP software, email, landline or cell phone, not once have I been without an option to get my photos back to the office. Without hesitation I highly recommend Pocket Phojo, it has become my most valuable work tool next to my camera equipment."

New features include:
• The Pocket PC's display can now be calibrated to remove color casts caused by the backlight, or by variations in individual Pocket PCs.
Files can now be transmitted in the background while the next image is being worked on, with files being stored in a queue until they have been transmitted.
• FTP Profiles are now available, allowing the quick and easy storage and recall of multiple FTP site settings.
• The built-in FTP client now has an option for Active/Passive transfers.
• The problem reported by DPReview in transmitting files via a GPRS phone has now been resolved at the phone company's end.
• Advanced IPTC fields such as Destination, Service ID, Product ID, Envelope Priority, and Editorial Priority are now supported.
• Extremely large images can now be edited with the option to use the Secure Digital card as a swap drive. Image sizes up to 50 megapixels (150MB) can now be edited using a 128MB card, which keeps Pocket Phojo far ahead of the curve when it comes to the file sizes produced by professional digital cameras.
• The thumbnail browser now has an improved cache so that you can instantly return to exactly where you left off.
• UnsharpMask now let's you use enter more precise values for the radius.
