Birthdays, Wishlists, and all that jazz...

Posted by Jason Dunn in "THOUGHT" @ 01:48 PM

Today happens to be my birthday, so I'm going to take the afternoon off, treat my car to a interior cleaning, eat some Tony Roma's ribs with my lovely wife, and try to relax. We've had a hectic and fiery few days here at Thoughts - who knew that dancing today screens and some cleaver swinging would generate such passionate debates? Sometimes I get myself worked up into a frenzy during these discussions, as do some of you, but after a day to cool off I look back on them and think "This is what the site is about. Agree or disagree, the debate is the reason this site exists." So regardless of whether or not you think we're all lunatics, I appreciate you coming to share your Thoughts with us.

And what makes lunatics happier than presents? Why nothing of course! :-) Being that today is my birthday, I figured this would give me a good excuse to let you know about the wishlist that each author has. In the weblog and free content world, wishlists are a fairly common thing: the people pouring hours of their lives into creating content for free have lists of things they'd like, and if visitors like their content, they have the ability to make a few of those wishes come true. Completely optional, guilt-trip free. There are no expectations.

Some of the guys didn't want to put up their wishlists because they don't spend as much time on the site as I do. Rubbish! Every member of the team works hard on the site, and I appreciate every one of them. Do you? If so, consider giving a gift to your favourite Thoughts contributor. In no particular order, here they are...

Marlof's Wishlist
Jason's Wishlist
Brad's Wishlist
Andy's Wishlist
Ed's Wishlist

You can learn a lot about each one of us from looking at the wishlist. Some of the items are truly WISHES (like Sam's laptop!), and others are goofy things we would enjoy but probably would never buy for ourselves.
