Those fellows at Chevron have been busy. Despite pulling their unlocking tool, they've put up a custom ringtone manager - with open source code available, no less - that allows you to use your own ringtones (subject to format constraints) on your WP7 device. Of course, you have to jump through a couple of hoops (you need the WP7 SDK and build an app), but the ability is there if you want it. Of course, Microsoft's pending "massive" update might include this function soon, so you might not have to wait too long for an officially sanctioned way to do it.
